Locations

We predominately work with entrepreneurs in the townships of Nyanga, Khayelitsha, Philippi, Langa and Imizamo Yethu near Cape Town. In Johannesburg, we work with entrepreneurs in the townships of Alexandra,

Soweto and Diepsloot. Reciprocity also has networks across sub-Saharan Africa that would enable us to run Inclusive Consulting programmes in other locations.

Structure

The course is led by the founders of Reciprocity. The format and the length of Inclusive Consulting is flexible and will be based on your academic requirements. Students will be working in consulting teams of three to five, with each team being assigned to a micro-entrepreneur. Students will first be introduced to their clients through an online video to get a sense of their business and challenges. Upon arrival, the team and entrepreneur will devise a strategy, which will form the basis of implementable recommendations and a final consulting report. The implementation as well as their impact will be monitored by a local partnering NGO over six months following the Inclusive Consulting mission. Students and university staff will therefore be able to assess the value of work accomplished on the turnover and/or profit of their client.
